Meet Teacher Audrey! violin/piano

Teacher Audrey launches her Portland teaching career with us at Mosaic and we’re so lucky!

Audrey first started taking violin lessons at the age of seven and has been playing the violin for the past thirteen years. At the age of fourteen she decided to pursue piano as well, and has been playing for six years. Her love of music and the many wonderful instructors she has been privileged to learn under helped her to push through the many challenges that come with learning instruments. Now her goal is to share that love of music with children.

Musical Education

In the 10 years that Audrey lived in Portland, OR, she performed numerous private and group recitals for family and friends. At the age of 14 she joined the Metropolitan Youth Symphony, and after moving to Central Oregon in 2021 she joined the Central Oregon Symphony.

Audrey finished Suzuki books 1 through 8, and has since been studying major violin repertoire. She has quickly advanced on the piano and passed her level 9 OMTA syllabus exam in Spring of 2023. She also took voice lessons for about two years, and sings and plays violin at her local church.

Audrey has completed high-school and college level music theory courses through MYS and COCC. She also completed the Suzuki teacher training course “Every Child Can” through the Suzuki Institute. More recently Audrey finished teacher training in order to become certified to teach Music Together. She also participated in the Kirsten Wartberg Summer Institute in order to learn more about teaching the violin and become proficient in the Kirsten Wartberg curriculum.

Currently Audrey is a freshman at Portland State University studying Music Performance.
